Guest payments

No payment account connected

Connect your own gateway account and a guest can settle from their phone. The credentials stay yours and the money lands in your bank — we are a facilitator, not the merchant, and there is nowhere here for anybody else's money to sit. Cash and card at the till work regardless.

Card details never reach this application. A guest is handed to the gateway's own checkout and comes back with a reference — there is no column in this system a card number could go into.

What guests have paid

Nothing yet. A payment appears here when a guest opens the bill on their phone and settles it — and it is recorded only when the gateway tells us server to server that the money moved, never because a browser came back saying so.

How this behaves

Four rules

The amount is worked out here

Never sent by the browser. A client that could name its own figure could settle a twelve-thousand-rupee bill for eleven.

Only the gateway can say it was paid

A browser returning from checkout with "success" in the URL is a claim anybody can make by editing it. The signed server-to-server event is the fact.

An intent is not a payment

A guest who opens checkout and changes their mind leaves nothing behind. The bill stays open until money actually moves.

A refund goes through the gateway first

A ledger entry with no gateway refund behind it is a bill that reads as refunded and a guest whose card was never credited — which they find out a month later, as a chargeback.
